About the role
Shopify’s Solutions Engineers are trusted technical advisors who blend deep technical curiosity, strong business acumen, and high‑trust communication to help ambitious merchants design and adopt the right commerce solutions. You’ll partner closely with Sales, Product, and our partner ecosystem, while raising the bar for the team through reusable assets, mentorship, and strong deal leadership.

Key Responsibilities
Own technical strategy from discovery through activation; drive clear next steps, remove ambiguity, and progress opportunities with strong prioritization and time management.
Run deep, tailored technical discovery; map workflows and current-state systems; uncover business and technical requirements; identify constraints, risks, and success metrics.
Translate merchant goals into solution architectures that fit the merchant’s people, process, and tech—balancing what Shopify can do natively with extensibility and ecosystem options.
Design and deliver executive-ready demos, presentations, and workshops that connect Shopify capabilities to measurable outcomes.
Partner with AEs, Solution Partners, and internal teams to define implementation approaches, integration patterns, and rollout plans that accelerate time-to-value.
Translate merchant feedback into clear product insights and internal improvements; help teams understand what’s needed to win in a competitive market.
Continuously deepen your understanding of Shopify’s platform, our ecosystem, and the broader commerce landscape to better serve merchants and the business.
Travel: Up to 25% travel for customer meetings, team offsites, and key company events.
