About the role
We are searching for a senior marketer, fluent in Mandarin and English (based in Singapore or HK), to drive our up-market growth in the Greater China Region (GCR). As a Lead Marketer, Scaled Content, you are a key driver to lead marketing's contribution to our regional business goals.
The GCR region is an important investment region for Shopify. You will be a GCR market expert and voice of the region, and will build strong foundations, building out thought leadership and content that can be leveraged and amplified across multiple paid, owned and earned channels. With the majority of your focus on the GCR region, you will partner closely with global stakeholders in Marketing, Events, Growth, Brand/Creative and Operations and also be a trusted business partner to the GCR Sales, Partnerships and Customer Success teams.
What You'll Do
Set the Marketing Scaled Content Strategy and Execute with Excellence: As a key SME and voice of the GCR region, you will:
Co-develop the positioning strategy and messaging framework (with our Lead, GCR Scales Programs) for our GCR ICP (ideal customer profile)
Develop an impactful thought leadership, content and amplification strategy for reaching our ideal customer profile across the region
Execute strongly against this via agencies and leveraging in-house tools
Your key KPIs will be qualified sales leads, in alignment with the sales team’s targets
In your toolkit, you will have deep experience in marketing and positioning strategy, content creation, test and learn methods and an understanding of the local tactics and channels that are most effective for the Greater China market
You have a strong understanding of the eCommerce landscape and have worked in B2B SaaS marketing. You understand and can leverage paid media as well as creative amplification strategies (e.g. 3rd Party sponsorships, Trade Associations, etc.) to increase the impact of your stories and content
You will be adept at working cross functionally and also as part of a global matrix organisation, including Partner, Events, Brand and Performance Marketing, to ensure all Creative content is localised and insights-driven.
Immerse in the Data: You will be data-centric with the ability to mine data for funnel insights to refine marketing strategies and to deeply understand results and impact.
AI Reflexivity: As every employee at Shopify must do, you should have a keen interest in AI and how it can drive your personal productivity as well as the effectiveness of your Growth programs and campaigns.
Communicate & Influence: You should have strong communication skills to be able to clearly communicate strategies, plans and overall impact, as well as the key market insights as a market SME.
Be the Voice of the Region: Translate relevant global brand campaigns into locally resonant "expressions" that connect with customers across GCR, and building from the ground up where needed
Key Responsibilities:
Custodian of the Shopify Value Proposition for our target merchants in the GCR and ROA sub regions, based on finding fit between merchant needs, product features and the market and competitive landscape
Craft messaging frameworks, creative briefs, and content using Shopify’s branding principles and a network of agencies where relevant
Build a plan to amplify these messages amongst our target audience
Support major Shopify owned events with the right thought leadership and content
Contribute to building culture and upholding Shopify values in the growing APAC region.
Liaise with peers across global markets to build context on our high profile markets and our needs, refine processes and evolve the role.
About You and Qualifications:

Before you apply, consider if you can bring:
A significant track record of B2B marketing leadership within GCR’s technology or SaaS sector, with a clear history of driving growth, creative strategies and exceeding pipeline and revenue targets.
Strong local knowledge of the GCR eCommerce and SaaS landscape, merchant needs and competitive set
Bilingual in English and Mandarin language to liaise with customers in the Greater China Region
High-energy, positive attitude, and merchant-focused mentality
Experience working with international teams in a matrix structure
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively
Motivated, driven, and self-starting individual who can hit the ground running
Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and navigate ambiguity
